RED'S RECORD RACK
Canadian Boy Hits Big Time
by Red Robinson
Vancouver Sun Sept.27, 1957

Paul Anka, a 15-year-old Ottawa high school student, is one of today's most promising song writers and record personalities.
His current hit, Diana, is fifth in the national survey.
Paul wrote this song for his girl friend next door, Diana Ayoub.
He has teamed up with Micki Mario, a girl singer, on ABC Paramount records and put out a new version of an old favorite, What You've Done to Me.
This record is headed for the top, too.  It's a big favorite with the record buyers today.  Paul will be in Vancouver on Oct. 23 with the Everly Brothers, Fats Domino, Laverne Baker, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Knox and Jimmy Rodgers.
A song that was reported in this column a month ago as starting to rise on the local hit parade is now the number one song across Canada and the U.S.  The song is That'll Be the Day with The Crickets.  Vancouver's record buyers are the people that made That'll Be the Day a national hit song.
